Residential

There is a large range of residential work that we deal with. For a list of recent appeal wins click here.

Extensions

We deal with all types of extensions for houses and flats ranging from two-storey extensions, conservatory extensions and entrance porches. Designs need to be accountable to the setting of the area to ensure that proposals compliment the surroundings.  In some cases, properties in conservation areas could require special justification.

Annexe Accommodation

Annexe accommodation can be an attached or an unattached self contained building, involving a conversion of an outbuilding or a new build to house elderly relatives, other family members or guests.

Boundary Treatments

We deal with proposals for various boundary treatments including fencing, railings, walls and entrance gates within urban and rural settings. The overall appearance of such proposals would need to be justified with reference to the location of individual properties and the surrounding environment.

Vehicular Access

Our work covers all forms of accesses for individual houses, to workplaces and for agricultural purposes.  These proposals sometimes generate objections on the grounds of highway safety and visual harm to the area. Therefore individual proposals need to be justified on their own merits.

Decking, Raised Patios, Roof Terraces & Balconies

Our appeal work deals with proposals that create garden and amenity spaces that serve houses and flats. A contemporary feature of garden spaces need to take account of privacy to neighbouring properties and ensure that they are visually acceptable.

Loft Conversions & Basement Conversions

All proposals which involves the creation of accomodation within the roof space and beneath houses and flats.  Such proposals in some cases can result in dramatic changes to the appearance of properties. Therefore individual proposals need to be justified on the basis of their own merits and relationship with their surroundings.
