Appeal Work

You have the right of appeal against a decision taken by a Council to refuse planning permission.  An appeal is considered independently by a Planning Inspector employed by the Planning Inspectorate, which is a government agency.  An Inspector will consider the case on the basis of current planning law, Government policy/advice and Local policies.

For an appeal to be successful, a full and detailed comprehension of planning law and policies are required.  This is to ensure the appointed Inspector has all the important and appropriate facts relating to the case in order to make a final decision. Additionally, knowledge of similar cases can raise relevant principles in law, which can assist in obtaining planning permission.

It is therefore highly advised to have a qualified and experienced firm to represent you at appeal.  J & L Planning Services can provide you with this very important service.  Our thirty years of experience combined of working with several Councils, as well as successfully winning numerous cases in private practice, can assure you that you will be well represented for your appeal.

As with all appeals dealt with by our office, we will deal with all correspondence, discussions with The Planning Inspectorate and the Council, together with the preparation of all submissions on your behalf.
