About Us

The offices of J & L Planning Services has obtained an expertise in dealing with various Planning Departments and acting for numerous clients in respect of appeals against refusals of planning permissions.  The office deals with a whole spectrum of proposals which involve obtaining planning permission.  The experience includes proposals for physical structures, such as the building of houses, to the construction of a house extension or loft conversion. A major element of the work in the office also includes changes of use; dealing with proposals for the use of open land and the conversion and use of buildings.  A common example of proposed uses involving open land  would be hand car wash uses.  Examples of proposed use of a building would include restaurants and takeaway uses.

The principal of J & L Planning Services, Terence Telles, obtained a degree in the early 1980's in Town and Country Planning and thereafter qualified as a chartered town planner and became a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.  Throughout the 1980's, Terence Telles obtained experience in the Planning Departments of six Councils achieving experience dealing with the determination of planning applications and acting for the council in respect of appeals.  Since the early 1990's, Terence Telles worked within the private sector, first as a partner in a planning consultancy specialising in planning appeals.  By the mid 1990's, Terence Telles had formed his own private practice, J & L Planning Services, which has dealt with thousands of clients providing advice and assistance with all types of proposals requiring planning permission.
